Written and performed by Matthew Zajac
Tailor. Soldier. Fugitive. Man. Born in Gnilowoda, Poland 1919. Died in Inverness 1992.
Created by the Inverness-based Dogstar Theatre (The Seer, 'e Polish Quine), The Tailor of Inverness is a powerful and emotional drama written and performed by Matthew Zajac and inspired by the incredible life of his father.
It is the story of how a boy who grew up on a farm in Galicia (Eastern Poland, now Western Ukraine) and, after being caught by the murderous tides of the Second World War, finally came to be a tailor in Inverness. But was he really who he said he was?
In this acclaimed production, words, music from violinists Gavin Marwick and Jonny Hardie, dance and video combine to tell the moving story of this ordinary man
