This amazing evening of contemporary dance features performers from Australian Dance Theatre featuring performers who have worked with DV8 Physical Theatre, as well as the world's of classical dance, theatre and circus. A fresh and powerful work - Twelfth Floor was WINNER of OUTSTANDING CHOREOGRAPHY aned OUTSTANDING FEMALE DANCER in the AUSTRALIAN DANCE AWARDS 2006.
Australian Dance Theatre's last visit to Eden Court was a fantastic success and almost sold out. This is a rare opportunity to see some of the finest dancers from this marvellous company, right here in Inverness.
Characters emerge and unravel in this darkly funny physical exploration of human interactions in confinement, set in a mysteriious, un- named institution. Five extraordinary performers play out shifting relationships of desire and power, hope and despair. A rich combination of dance, theatre, movement, video and 'DJ Trip's' moody soundtrack make 12th Floor a fantastically sophisticated and original work, shifting effortlessly from tender, lyrical moments to brooding menace and physicality.
12th Floor choreographer Tanja Liedtke died suddenly last year, shortly after her appointment as Artistic Director of Sydney Dance Theatre. nHer inspiration work lives on in this stunning, moving piece.
