Originally from Fife, Ron has lived in Orkney for almost 20 years. Author of over a dozen books and countless articles and poems for the Glasgow Herald, his one-man play Every Blessed Thing has been performed across the UK and North America.

Ron’s latest book, George Mackay Brown: The Wound and the Gift tracks with curiosity and passion George Mackay Brown’s literary and spiritual journey, including his controversial move from Presbyterianism to Roman Catholicism. Ron explores the darker, more tormented, side of Orkney's Bard and uncovers the intense relationship between alcohol, suffering and creativity.

Shortlisted for the Saltire Award for Best Research Book of the Year.
