National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland + Special Guests: Breabach + Roddy Macleod
The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland will present a fantastic showcase "Northern Exposure". The Senior Band will show off the talents of some of the country’s brightest your piping and drumming stars and the Development Band will be performing for the first time outside Glasgow, where they had their inaugural concert last November. The NYPB performance will offer an exciting mix of traditional music with a contemporary twist that will appeal to new audiences as much as lovers of traditional pipe band music.
Alongside these two magnificent bands there will also be performances by Roddy MacLeod MBE and Breabach. Roddy MacLeod MBE is the Principal of the National Piping Centre in Glasgow, Scotland and is considered to be one of the most accomplished pipers of his generation and a highly regarded teacher, recitalist and adjudicator. Scottish firebrands Breabach are one of the most talked about bands on the folk scene. Their innovative celtic style, blending double bagpipes, flute, fiddle, song and Scottish stepdance, brings to the stage, flare, excitement and diversity rarely seen from such a young group.
