Mark Beaumont is quite literally The Man who Cycled the World.
This unique and remarkable story of a man who loves his bike began in 2008 when Mark broke the world record for cycling solo around the world (a journey of over 15,000 miles, cycling 100 miles per day for over half a year).
In 2009, Mark set out on his second ultra-endurance solo challenge; to cycle the length of the American Cordillera. On this 15 000 mile expedition, Mark not only cycled down the longest mountain range on the planet, but also climbed Mt McKinley in Alaska and Aconcagua in Argentina.
The Man who Cycled the World is a story of adventure, of a personal rollercoaster, of mental and physical endurance and offers a fascinating insight into the world we live in.
If you enjoyed Andy Kirkpatrick, Tim Emmet or Karen Darke’s appearances at Eden Court, you won’t want to miss this – he might even inspire you to get on your own bike!
