Through his highly successful television programmes, numerous books and magazine articles Cameron McNeish has become one of the best known figures in the British outdoors scene. A mountaineer, skier and wilderness backpacker Cameron has travelled extensively throughout the world and has led numerous treks to Nepal, India, Morocco, Turkey, Russia and Jordan, but it is for his knowledge of the mountains of Scotland that he is best known.

As part of the book festival Cameron will present Trails and Climbs in Scotland - a behind the scenes insight into some of his work with the BBC, which features some incredible climbing footage and a piece on the making of The Great Climb, a seven hour live broadcast that Cameron worked on last year with Dave MacLeod and Tim Emmett.

Cameron’s most recent publications are The Sutherland Trail (2009) and The Skye Trail (2010) - both co-written by Richard Else.
