Master Class: Physical Theatre

Tutor:  John Batty; Eden Court CREATIVE's Drama Artist.

An exploration of drama that communicates mainly through physical performance, supported by words and music.  We will look at the use of body, gesture and expression to enhance character performance; as well as how enhancing physical performance can bring clear meaning out of difficult texts. Some mask work is included. Please wear loose clothing and soft shoes or trainers.

Master Class:  Talking to Make a Difference

Tutor:  Mary Macalpine, RADA trained actress and speech therapist.

A unique opportunity for actors and non-actors to enjoy an inspiring range of activities and exercises which will help develop communication skills in many different situations.  Mary MacAlpine will help you warmup and protect your voice, teach about the importance of breathing and show you how to project.  Please bring along a pre-prepared audition speech (no more than 2 minutes in length) to practice with.

Master Class:  Improvisation

Tutor:  John Batty, Eden Court CREATIVE's drama artist.

Being a skilled improviser enables an actor to explore a halfway zone between a rehearsed performance and the human interactions of the “real” world.  Many accomplished actors have an improvisational feel to their acting which they actively cultivate to bring the spontaneity of everyday life to their performances.  This is your chance to have a concentrated shot at it!
