Inverness Book Festival 2013

Meet and talk with Radio Scotland presenter Mark Stephen. Mark presents the hugely popular Saturday morning programme Out of Doors, the history series Past Lives and the one-to-one conversational, Turning Point.

His keen interest in the Scottish countryside also extends to literature and poetry. In 2011 this was reflected in two special programmes featuring the landscape and writings of Sorley Maclean and Norman MacCaig, which he explored in Raasay, Skye and Sutherland in the company of contemporary writers Angus Peter Campbell and Andrew Greig.

Normally Mark’s role is to ask the questions and persuade other people to do the talking. This time round the Neil Gunn Trust have succeeded in persuading Mark to do the talking. The theme he has chosen is Belonging to this Place.
