Roddy Nicolson
Eden Court Creative Gaelic Drama Worker
Roddy has been working as a drama worker for Eden Court for over eight years. The main part of his work is supporting Gaelic medium education in primary schools and leading Gaelic after school drama clubs. Sometimes he also co-produces and performs in theatre in education shows throughout the Highlands. Roddy also uses filmmaking as part of his work.
Roddy runs three clubs at Culduthel Christian Centre, Inverness, two for Gaelic medium primary children and one for Gaelic learners. He also leads Còmhlan Drama Òigridh Inbhir Nis at Spectrum Centre, Inverness and part of his work here is to seek and arrange material for the group to perform.
He has directed shows such as Taigh Màiri Anndra that have been performed on the main stage at Eden Court and directed a whole school performance to celebrate the first year of Bun-sgoil Ghàidhlig Inbhir Nis. Roddy co-works with music tutor Eilidh Barker, Doilina Grant, Gaelic Community Learning & Development Officer, Meanbh-chuileag, Fèisean nan Gaidheal, Feis a’ Bhaile and Feis na h-Òige to run the above mentioned clubs and projects.
